*New from Marxist Books!*

Not long ago, the “sun never set upon the British Empire.” Far from any enlightened or benevolent savior, what the Empire brought to its subjects were war, conquest, pillage, plunder, and slavery–to name just a few. It robbed the most treasured and priceless artifacts from the cradles of human civilization and brought them to the shores of the English Isles for the casual enjoyment of a wealthy few.

Today, while the sun has set on the British Empire, the crimes of the Crown have left deep-running scars all over the world. The decades if not centuries of stagnation and underdevelopment that have plagued the former colonies are clear for all to see and they have a cause: imperialism.

Workers and youth today are filled with rage at the unceasing poverty, endless wars, and plethora of horrors that continue to rip through Britain’s former subjects. But anger is only the first step. The next is to understand. Knowledge is power, and this booklet is meant to arm the next generation of revolutionary anti-imperialists with the knowledge they need to end imperialism once and for all. This booklet goes over the crimes committed by the Crown in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Oceania. It covers Britain’s role in the slave trade and the colonization of Africa, the criminal partition of India, the efforts to overthrow popular rulers in countries such as Egypt, Iran, and Australia, and much more.

But more than just a review of the facts, it explains why this history still matters today, and how these horrors can be ended once and for all. In the words of Indian revolutionary Bhagat Singh, “Bombs and pistols do not make a revolution. The sword of revolution is sharpened on the whetting stone of ideas.”
