Millions of Palestinians are being systematically oppressed by the racist, capitalist Israeli state. But the violent occupation, grinding poverty, indiscriminate bombings, and bloody pogroms organized by Zionist and fascist gangs have not cowed the Palestinian masses. They are searching for a way forward to throw off their shackles and fight for a dignified life. Implicit in the situation are revolutionary developments in the entire region.

This booklet delves into the history of the Israel-Palestine conflict from a Marxist perspective. It explains the background to the proclamation of Israel in 1948, and exposes the infamous slogan, “a land without a people for a people without a land.” It also examines the role of the imperialists, as well as key junctures from the Six-Day War to the First Intifada. The analysis continues beyond the Oslo Accords and critiques the reformist and failed solutions that are prevalent in the public debate.
